Kamala Rose Bio

Kamala Rose is the author of several novels, including the international bestseller material, Palackeho's Boots, Lotita's Ganesha and Andel v Noci. Her latest work in progress is the Underkult, a candid look at the issues of poverty wrapped in the universal battles of good and evil.

Rose was born in Randolf, Vermont and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Her father is a mechanical engineer and her mother an English teacher. She attended Jacksonville University and graduated suma cum laude at UNF. She moved to Europe in 2005 and lived in the Prague for a couple of years, moving back to Denver, CO for the 2008 election to work at the Democratic National Convention as a lighting tech.

Before publishing her first novel, Kamala Rose worked as an IATSE stagehand, a waitress, a technical writer, movie theater usher, limosine driver, a legal secretary, a videographer, and as a researcher at children's psychiatric hospital. Kamala has drawn on all of these work experiences to create the characters in her books.

When she’s not writing, Rose enjoys ashtanga yoga, flamenco dancing, photography, and putzing around with websites. She divides her time between Prague and New York with brief stints of snowboarding in Colorado and swimming in the Terranean Sea.
